Low-Carb Tomato Ketchup

A cupboard essential you should never have to miss! While ketchups from supermarkets often contain heaps of sugar and carbs, this recipe lets you get away with only 1g carb per serving.

Ingredients

  • 25g Shallots (finely chopped)
  • 1 clove Garlic (crushed)
  • 10g Butter
  • 1 can Tomatoes (drained)
  • ½ tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • Pepper (to taste)

Directions

  1. Sauté the garlic and shallots in butter until soft.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and let simmer for 5 - 10 minutes until slightly thickened, mashing down the tomatoes.
  3. Liquidise or press the mixture through a sieve using a wooden spoon.
  4. Let cool before serving.
