Ingredients
- 250g Low-Carb Flour
- ½ tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
- 1 tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
- 60g Butter
- 50g Grated Cheddar Cheese
- 60ml Milk
Directions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C.
- Put the flour, salt, cream of tartar and butter into a mixer (or rub together with your fingertips!) until a sand-type texture is achieved.
- Add in the grated cheddar cheese.
- Mix together and add a dash of milk (or a milk alternative). Keep adding a dash at a time until it all comes together. Optionally, add a dash of cream.
- There's no need to roll it out. Squash it down using your hands to around 4cm thick and use a round cutter. It should make about 10 rounds.
- If you are using it as a pie base, press into a pie dish.
- Brush them with egg then sprinkle some more cheese on top before baking at 200°C for 15 minutes.
