A homemade cherry compote, perfect for desserts or a tasty addition to yogurt or granola. You'll be tempted to eat this cherry compote by the spoonful!

Ingredients
- 500g Sweet Cherries
- 2 tbsp Granulated sweetener (like erythritol)
- 2 tbsp Water
- ½ tsp Almond extract
Directions
- Wash the cherries, remove the stem and the pit.
- Place the prepared cherries in a saucepan.
- Add the sweetener and water, and let simmer over a low heat while stirring.
- Continue to stir until the fruit begins to soften and produce natural fruit juices. This will take up to 20 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and add almond extract.
- Cool before placing in an airtight container.
- Enjoy warm or cold.
